Regrettably, following changes to the US trading and tariffs, changing on 29th August 2025, Terra Rhapsody Miniatures will no longer be able to supply products to the US. Donald Trump has introduced tariffs when trading in the US and removed the de minimis threshold. Most of the items sold at Terra Rhapsody were below this threshold, and will now be subject to tariffs.
As it is still early days, shipping companies are not yet equipped in most cases to charge the tariffs at postage label purchase, meaning the customer would be expected to pay tariffs upon the package reaching US customs. This will likely be a complicated process if tariffs are not paid up front, adding delays and unexpected costs. Shipping to the US would likely only resume for Terra Rhapsody if shipping carriers can ensure tarriff charges are paid up front at the point of label purchase. This would ensure tariffs are paid in advance and packages can be received directly by our US customers without any further customs intervention or charges. Please be patient while we navigate this new tariff system.
As Terra Rhapsody is a small business specialising in individually handmade dollhouse miniatures and gifts based in the United Kingdom, establishing a system for US tariffs will be time consuming, but will also directly increase the price of all items in the Terra Rhapsody shop for US customers. The tariff rate for the UK is 10%, but new charges for administration and tracked shipping will also be required, leaving US customers a 15% increase on all prices. It is therefore understandable if US customers no longer wish to purchase from the UK and Terra Rhapsody as a result.
We are working to reintroduce shipping to the US as soon as possible, once more infrastructure has been established for coping with the tariffs.
It's a harsh blow for all small and handmade businesses around the world, including the UK. It is also a harsh increase in pricing for US citizens, as tariffs are ultimately being passed on to the US customers.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
Sending thanks to all of my previous US customers for their support. It's a really sad goodbye, but hopefully it won't be a permanent one.
