  • What is Terra Rhapsody? Terra Rhapsody is a small business specialising in 1:12 scale miniatures, dioramas, jewellery and customised gifts. The name originates from Terra, the Latin word for earth and Rhapsody, as in song.
  • What are your miniatures made from? Each design has been created eco-consciously, maximising use of natural, preloved, reclaimed and repurposed materials. This ranges from foam and coffee sticks to glass vessels and dollshouse furniture. This is to help reduce waste, reduce reliance on new products and increase environmental awareness.
  • Where do you ship to? We ship worldwide from the United Kingdom. Free UK shipping is included in the prices shown, with additional charges for international shipping.
  • Where are you based? We are based in the city of Wrexham in North Wales, United Kingdom.
  • Does it take a long time to make miniatures? Yes. Each item is crafted with detail and care so it can take many hours. Take a look at my designs page for an idea of how long some of my previous pieces have taken.
  • Do you hide easter eggs in your miniatures? Yes. Many of my miniatures have secret compartments, drawers and books hiding more details that are not immediately available to see. This means the designs are interactive and continue to surprise for years to come. Not everything is quite as it seems on first glance.
  • Do you accept commissions? Yes, please get in touch if you'd like to discuss a commission. If you don't want to get in contact via the website, you can send an email or DM on social media.
  • Why are your prices so high? Each design is individually made by hand, with many crafted from scratch over a long period of time. This means that time is usually the primary expense in the price of any item. As a UK-based business, the minimum living wage will dictate the minimum hourly rate, multiplied by the number of hours the design has taken to make. Additional to labour costs are materials and resources used to create the design, and costs associated with shipping.
  • Why do you only plant one tree for every 30 orders you receive? Terra Rhapsody is a very small business and the average order size is relatively small, so identifying an average cost per item to plant the tree needs to be realistic. Each tree planted is done so by dedicating a tree via the National Forest website, which costs £15.00. This equates to a £0.50 donation to the nationalforest.org per order received. This figure is reviewed annually.
  • How do you do anything with those nails? I can't do anything without them. They are like having tweezers attached to your fingers when working with miniatures.
